Nitrous Oxide Administration Competency- X9230
This competency can be challenged anytime after you enter clinic and have completed the Nitrous Oxide Administration lab. This competency must be completed on 2 times.
The competency consists of the independent administration and management of nitrous oxide to a patient. It can be done during almost any procedure in clinic (make sure to book a chair that has the hook-ups available) and even during your Healthy Smiles rotation.
You must inform your covering faculty that you are challenging your competency prior to the appointment beginning. The X-code can be planned chair-side.
Successful administration of nitrous oxide to a patient during a dental procedure will result in a passing grade. There is no grading criteria published by the school for this competency.
