Below is a chart that outlines the recommended timeline for completing all of your competencies for graduation. Some are scheduled as part of classes or labs, but others must be challenged in clinic on patients that qualify and that you have scheduled ahead of time. Most have a minimum threshold of clinical experiences that must be reached before they can be challenged (for more information on the minimum threshold for individual competencies, see Competency Guides). The chart below gives a range for when competencies may be completed. Competencies should be completed in the recommended semesters in order to achieve the highest grade possible. However, due to the nature of patient-based competencies, this is not always the case and most competencies can be completed at any time prior to graduation.
