Crown Preparation Appointment Checklist

Chairside Drawer Checklist:

  • 2x2 gauze
  • Cotton rolls
  • Saliva ejector tip (slow speed suction tip)
  • High speed suction tip
  • Floss
  • Pt napkin
  • Operator mask

Cart Checklist:

  • "Triple Tray" - to make provisional matrix prior to prepping
  • Articulating paper
  • TempBond
  • Mixing pad
  • Reduction ring(s)
  • Extra PVS & Integrity tips 
  • Microbrushes
  • PIP brush - for PVS adhesive
  • Viscostat
  • Flowable composite (for temporary/provisional repair)

  • Local anesthetic (e.g. Lidocaine), needle (e.g. 27 gauge long for IA nerve blocks, 30 gauge short for buccal infiltration), cardboard needle holder

  • Lollicaine (benzocaine topical)

  • Cord & Hemodent

  • Enhance point, cup, or disc (optional)

Dispensary Window Checklist:

  • Pt safety glasses
  • Restorative cassette
  • Integrity (bis-acryl)
  • Exabite - to make provisional matrix
  • IsoVac & mouthpiece (small, medium, or large)
  • High and slow speed handpieces 
  • Composite gun
  • Direct, indirect, and acrylic bur blocks
  • Vita 3D and/or stump shade guides (optional, usu. for anterior cases)
  • PVS - only if you will be making a final impression
